Technology

Technology plays a vital role in the curriculum at Forman. Here the focus is on how to best integrate technology in to the classroom in order to help students and teachers become more efficient and effective at learning and communicating. Teachers apply a variety of assistive technologies based on the student's unique learning style.

The school is a pioneer in the integration of iPads into the classroom. Students use a multitude of apps to help where they need it most. For some, that is in converting speech to text, for others it is note taking or helping with organization. By making the processes of learning easier, students are more confident and enthusiastic about learning.
Technology Requirements
As of Fall 2013, all students are required to have an iPad2 or 3 with 32 gigs of memory. It is not necessary to have 4G. Many students also bring a laptop, but there are numerous locations on campus where students have shared access to computers if needed.

Students are allowed to use iPhones or other handheld devices to manage their schedules and assignments. Use of PDAs is encouraged in support of learning and not permitted during classes, mealtimes, sporting events or at assemblies.
