Sara Lynn Leavenworth

Sara Lynn joined the Forman School community in 2009, having previously served for five years as Director of Admission and Financial Aid at Westover School in Middlebury, Connecticut. In addition to her success with recruitment and retention of students, she has extensive experience in marketing and communications, having served as the Director of Communications at the Park School in Brookline, MA, for many years. Sara Lynn holds a BA from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. She is an alumna of Westover School and Chase Collegiate.

Shannon Markel is the newest member of our Admission team, having joined Forman in July 2013. She brings extensive professional experience in admissions, having worked as Director of Admissions at The Washington Market School and as Associate Director of Admissions at the Claremont Preparatory School -- both in New York City. She holds a Masters in Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, and a B.A. from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio. Her personal interests include marathons, Taekwondo (she is a black belt!) and dog rescue. Shannon, her husband, and new baby Penelope recently moved to Bridgewater, Connecticut.
Stephanie Boulay

Stephanie joined the Admission Team in the summer of 2012 to assist with recruitment efforts and oversee the School’s tour guide program. Stephanie has been affiliated with several private schools, including Wesleyan University, and she attended Groton School in Massachusetts. Prior to joining Forman School, Stephanie worked in a variety of coaching roles, including Interim Women's Ice Hockey Head Coach and Club Sports Coordinator at Wesleyan University. She is also certified to officiate high school field hockey, ice hockey and girls lacrosse as well as collegiate ice hockey. She is a graduate of Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, Conn. (2007), where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She earned a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University in 2010. Stephanie is from Alaska.
Tom O'Dell

Tom joined the Forman School Admission Office in 2006, with over 30 years of experience in independent boarding schools as a Director of Admission, teacher, coach, and dorm parent. He is the former Head of Greenwood School, a junior boarding school for boys with learning differences. In 2005, Tom started his own educational consulting business, helping families all over the world find the right school for their children. He is a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultant Association (IECA), and has served on the Learning Disabilities Committee of IECA. Tom is a past President of the Small Boarding School Association (SBSA), and is currently a Trustee for the Litchfield Montessori School in Northfield, CT. A graduate of Adelphi University, Tom is a lifelong resident of Litchfield, where he raised his two children. His son Andrew is on the faculty of Tabor Academy and daughter Danielle is a research biologist for the Nantucket Conservation Foundation. Tom and his wife Robin live on Woodridge Lake in Goshen.
Susan DeAngelis

Susan joined the Forman School community in 2006 as Administrative Assistant for the Admission Office, having been a Special Education Instructional Assistant for six years in the Middlebury/Southbury school system. For nine years, prior to her work with special education, Susan operated her own day care facility and was also a Corporate Administrative Assistant. Susan’s experience working with students with learning disabilities combined with her years as an Administrative Assistant prove invaluable to Forman’s Admission Office. She holds a degree from the Stone School of Business and is currently attending Northwestern CT Community College in their Business Management A.S. Degree Program. Susan’s daughter, Emily, graduated from Forman in 2008, and her son, Jake, graduated in 2012. In her free time, Susan is an avid gardener and she loves to kayak, hike, and camp.
