Forman School Girls' Varsity Tennis played their first Hudson Valley League match today against Wooster. Wooster won 6-1 Scores were as follows: Singles 1. Sarah Newman(Wooster) vs. Charlotte Braun 10-0 2. Grace Hamiliton(Wooster) vs. Callie Smith 10-5 3. Chandler Johnson (Wooster) vs. Amanda McCullough 10-2 4. Dylan Herman (Wooster) vs. Danielle Slaine 10-1 Doubles 1. Thea Goodrich and Angela Baca (Wooster) vs. Sara Fradkin and Kim Gold 10-3 2. Jasmine Myers and Sonima Randhawa (Wooster) vs. Liz Cooper and Jane deMenocal 10-8 3. Allison Halstead and Rebecca Bossin (Forman) vs. Enca Riley and Elizabeth Yankowski 10-3 Allison Halstead and Rebecca Bossin played in their first tennis match today for the Lady Lions, securing Forman's first win of the season.

This game was closer than the score would indicate. Watkinson came out with a lot of hustle and a never say die attitude. But no matter how hard they tried, they just couldn't stop senior middie & co-captain Brenden DeLuke who had 6 goals and 2 assists for the day. Brenden also 6 of 7 faceoffs and played tough defensive midfield. Four other Forman players (Gelbstein, Lawrence, Powell, & Jury) scored one goal each. Marc Fein, Reece Stewart & Shane McLean played a strong close defense limiting Watkinson to only 15 shots. Goallie Ben Shipley had a good day in the goal with 6 saves. The rest of the team also played well.
