Athlete of the Week Athlete of the Week has displayed the following characteristics as a member of the Forman School athletic program:
Sportsmanship, leadership, positive attitude, perseverance, selflessness, and other
intangible qualities inherent to athletics.
Nic Aboitiz/Ultimate FrisbeeNic used his foot speed to beat his defender down the field and score 7 points and earned 1 assist in our win at Cheshire Academy. He also had 2 points and 1 assist at our win at Watkinson on Wednesday. Nic has grown as a player this season, learning to work with his teammates and capitalize on his strengths. Brandon Turner/White Water KayakingThis past weekend Brandon traveled to Vermont to race for the first time in 34 degree weather, snow showers, and Class 3 rapids. Brandon showed tremendous courage as the sole competitor for the Forman School, making 21 of 22 gates. Great job! Nick Manzella/GolfNick has maintained his form during practice and in matches. He goes out every day and works hard at improving his game and his scores have earned him the number one spot on the team.
Gretchen Conyers and Jane deMenocal/Girls TennisGretchen and Jane have both won five matches in a row. They have done this while both playing up a position due to a team member being sidelined and have shown leadership by example. They stay focused in practice, help fellow teammates, and at times stay after practice. Gretchen and Jane have been ideal players, teammates and Captain's!
Nick Powers/Boys Lacrosse
Greg Goldsmith/Baseball
Jose 'Manny' Rosquette / JV BasketballSince joining the JV Basketball Squad, Manny has exemplified the meaning of a leader, a sportsman, and a team player. He is always looking out for his teammates trying to encourage a feeling of team unity. In our last win at Oakwood Friends, Manny had 10 points, and in the previous game at Gunnery he contributed 9 early points. However, Manny was probably more noted for his assists to teammates and ability to get everyone involved. Manny has emerged as a true leader, and for this he deserves the Athlete of the Week Award.
