On Friday, May 9, The Forman School will offer its fifth workshop in a series exploring a range of issues on students who learn differently. The workshops are free and open to the public.
The topic for this last session will be Learning Differences and Life After High School and will include a panel presenting various perspectives. Helen Waldron, Dean of Academic Affairs at The Forman School, will direct the session and moderate the panel discussion. Specifically, the workshop will include a discussion of the college process for students with learning differences and focus on the unique considerations in their college search. For some students, a “gap year” can provide an important growth experience. Gap year possibilities will also be reviewed in this discussion. Given the increasing emphasis being placed on the college application process, parents, educators, and consultants will have an interest in these issues.
The session will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Library at Carpenter Hall with coffee available at 6:30. We encourage those planning to attend to share this opportunity with others who may have an interest. Any questions may be directed to Helen Waldron at 860.567.1844 or Doug Morrill, Director of External Affairs, at 860.567.1804.

A quaint Irish pub at the Lenox Hotel in Boston was the setting for a Forman School Alumni reception on Wednesday, April 16. Classmates and faculty gathered to enjoy each others' company and relive some fond Forman memories. Classes in attendance spanned from 1964 to 2007.
They also made sure to send their well wishes to retiring Head of School Mark B. Perkins.
