Forman School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory school for academically motivated students with identified learning differences such as dyslexia, executive function difficulties, or attention deficits. Our program does not support students with behavioral and emotional difficulties, social communication disorder, or those on the autism spectrum.

What we do
Based in Litchfield, Connecticut, the Forman Diagnostic Center provides comprehensive clinical evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults—offering insights and analysis into their unique cognitive profiles.
Participants leave with in-depth, user-friendly assessments outlining how defined skills interact to affect their life: school, work, relationships, social settings, and everyday tasks. During the feedback process, they’ll receive home, school, and community-based support recommendations and a realistic plan to tackle the specific obstacles they experience.

Appointments are available to all prospective and current members of Forman’s community. For the general public, we also offer:

Meet our Director, Dr. Maryellen Ruth
Dr. Maryellen Ruth is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with training concentrations in neuropsychology and forensic psychology, and extensive private and public experience.
As well as being the Director of the Forman Diagnostic Center, she is the owner of Meridian Psychological Consultants, LLC. Dr. Ruth previously served as Director of Diagnostic Services at the Southfield Center for Development in Darien, CT, and has worked within the District of Columbia public school system, residential and day treatment programs, forensic agencies, and private group practices.
