Throughout this academic year, we are celebrating faculty members who exemplify our year-long theme: Breaking Barriers and Building Bridges. History Teacher Scott Brady ’84 was recognized for his contributions in December. Brady, a longtime community member of Forman, is also the Assistant Coach of the Girls’ Varsity Volleyball team, an Advisor, and a New Teacher Mentor.
“I am honored and humbled,” he says. “This is a community that I genuinely love being a part of, so to be recognized in this way is really nice.”
A nomination for Brady reads, "While the entire staff is deserving, Scott exemplifies what it means to break barriers and build bridges. He is a seasoned teacher and has one of the most welcoming personalities. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to do [my] first day with him as he explained the massive amount of work with grace, a fantastic sense of humor, and a true love for his service at Forman."
Brady currently teaches U.S. History and Resistance During the Holocaust. He says he hopes students take away “appreciation, respect, understanding, perspective, and maybe a little bit of history” from his classes.
He adds that he maintains an open-door policy and makes an effort to be accessible to the community. “Forman is family...why would you treat people any other way?”
