Around the Green
Prevention Specialist Glenn Hall of Freedom from Chemical Dependency (FCD) visited campus this week from Monday through Thursday. He held sessions with each grade level about making intelligent, healthy choices regarding alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use.
Do what you love and excellence will follow. That's a lesson we can all learn from Matt Bender, who has been an English Teacher to juniors and seniors at Forman School since 2000. Bender was bestowed the John N. Forman Award for Excellence in Education at the 2016 Commencement ceremony, and although he has dedicated himself to this career all these years, he was still surprised. "It's one of those things that I just don't think about," he says humbly. "Receiving the award was a great honor. It meant a great deal to me to be recognized for doing what I love."
This is a love story for the books! Congratulations to Forman School sweethearts Phip Scheide '86 and Sue Ehrhardt '87, who were apart for 30 years only to fall in love again. They came back to where it all began...to get engaged at the Graduation Tree on campus!
On Tuesday, November 29, Forman celebrated a global day dedicated to giving back. Thank you to our amazing community, who donated over $5,000 in cash and pledges on Tuesday alone for the Forman Annual Fund!
