Ten Forman students traveled to Brown University on November 11-13 for the annual Model United Nations (UN).
Students were placed on committees by their interests and strengths in three categories: General Assembly, Specialized Committees, and Crisis Committees. Each committee was required to face and solve real-world issues, whether past or present. With a long tradition of participation in the Model UN, it has become one of the most popular trips at Forman.
At Model UN, participants build confidence and become adept in areas that prepare them for future endeavors such as leadership, analytical thinking, and research. "Students improve interpersonal skills by working with kids from other schools," Model UN Head Advisor Joe Odell says. "Students learn to debate, follow parliamentary procedure, and adhere to the proper verbiage."
