Evan Schmid '08 and Kimberlie Gold '08 met at Forman during a PSAT exam their sophomore year. As fate would have it, Kim and Evan were seated next to each other and during an exam break, Evan took the reigns and asked Kim if she wanted to take the trip with him to go feed his mouse. Kim says, "I swear we laughed the whole time," and they haven't stopped laughing since.
Ten years later, Evan and Kim are engaged to be married! After graduation, they took a gap year together backpacking through Asia and Australia. Their love continued on through college, with Kim studying political science at Suffolk University and Evan studying his trade of woodworking at Rochester Institute of Technology and the North Bennett School in Boston. After three years in Boston, they are starting a new chapter in Sweden, where Kim is helping to start a tech company office in Stockholm.
Although the future may be uncertain, the one thing that is sure is their love for each other and Forman. Kim says, "I love Forman because it allowed me to excel academically and athletically in a way I never had before. The success I found at Forman enabled me to focus on my strengths instead of my weaknesses. It had a huge impact on who I am today." Evan adds, "I love Forman because I made a lot of amazing friends there and had some really wonderful teachers.” He is especially grateful for Mr. Ford's math class, which made him realize he wanted to pursue woodworking. But what Evan loves most about Forman is much sweeter: "Most of all, I am grateful for Forman because it's where I met Kim."
