The Forman crew team participated in the annual Founders Day Regatta on Lake Waramaug this past Sunday. Four Forman boats took to the waters (two varsity, two novice) in this venerated multi-school race, which was established in 1959 by host school The Gunnery.
“The highlights of the day came from the Girls’ Varsity four race, with Forman rowers Anna Tavon ’19, Lauren Bradley ’17, Mimi Rogers ’17, Emily Elfman ’18, and Victoria Hirsch ’20,” Coach Kyle Halloran ’05 said. “They managed a time of 6:46, which was a personal record for this boat at Founders Day by 9 seconds. Our Girls’ Novice boat with coxswain Andrew Dombroski ’20 and rowers Meredith Sherburne ’19, Louise Weidner ’20, Mae Sharpless ’18, and Victoria Hirsch ’20, managed our first win at Founders Day.”
Forman competed against area schools like Taft, Kent, Salisbury, Berkshire, Rumsey Hall, Brooks, and Hopkins, among others.
“All boats competed with spirit. It was a wonderful day and we are very thankful for the Forman staff and parents who came to support the team,” Halloran concluded.
