Despite some slightly inconvenient weather, Forman School's Fall Open House was a big success! Prospective students, parents, and some grandparents arrived early on the morning of Monday, October 9 to see firsthand the many reasons why Forman might be right for their child. Duncan Marshall '67, Interim Director of Admission, said the rain didn't prevent a few families from showing up without prior arrangements. But an open house is an open house and the more was the merrier.
After registration in the Visual and Performing Arts Center, groups led by Student Ambassadors toured Forman's campus and were able to ask questions of faculty and staff. In addition to seeing the Arts Center and Science Center facilities and classrooms, each family also visited all academic buildings. After exploring the campus, there was a refreshment break followed by an informational panel consisting of current students and members of the faculty.
The recent investments in buildings and grounds made by Forman are clearly paying off. All visitors noted the natural, welcoming beauty of the Forman campus, but many positive remarks came from seeing the buildings where the learning occurs. "I heard several glowing remarks about all of the buildings, especially the Science Center, Visual and Performing Arts Center, and the Ingenuity Lab," said Chief Financial Officer Bob Scodari. " Our facilities really send a powerful and positive message about the vitality of Forman."
Student Ambassador Jason Epstein '18 heard similar praise. "On my tour with Lilly Berretta '18," said Epstein, "several people said they felt our classrooms looked like classrooms you'd find at the college level."
Overall, Open House was a chance for those visiting families to see what Forman students, faculty, and administrators already know: Forman is the first and the best LD school with an abundant of resources to help every student succeed.
