On Saturday, November 11, Forman School will host the Litchfield Hills Farm-Fresh Market for the second week in a row, from 10am-1pm in the Student Center.
"The new culinary course at Forman focuses on local food so it seems like a good fit. We are looking forward to having Forman join us in our goal to help our farmers be sustainable and economically viable," said a spokesperson for the Market.
"We are very excited to be hosting the Market," says Chef Matthew Thomas who runs the Lion's Den Bistro and Forman's new Culinary Program. "You could easily run a Michelin-star restaurant only using meat and produce from the purveyors who attend the Litchfield Farm-Fresh Market."
The market on November 4 went off without a hitch. I saw students, faculty members with their kids, and some new faces," says Thomas. "All of the farms let me know how much fun they had and loved the fact that the market was being held inside a school. The farmers also told me that it was one of their busiest indoor markets in years."
See you there!
