Forman School sent a delegation down to Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island last weekend to compete in the educational activity known as Model UN. Students are introduced to concepts of international relations, diplomacy, and the inner workings of the United Nations.
Students are appointed to committees and assigned to represent various countries. Assignments are given and student teams prepare research in advance of debating issues and attempting to pass resolutions and treaties.
"Our veterans such as Chris King '18 and Brendan Wilson '18 did well," said world languages teacher Joe Odell who supervised Forman's team with history and social science teacher Erika Prince. "I was happy with the contributions of new students Emma Lawton-Allen '21 and Izzy Shimmield '21. We're off to a good start!"
