On February 22 and 23, the stage of the Jake Cloobeck '16 Theater transformed into the land of Duloc for a wonderful evening of comedy and singing as the theater department mounted an exciting and wildly entertaining production of Shrek: The Musical. A wonderful story of acceptance and the idea of embracing our differences, "Shrek" entertained while delivering a positive message.
Using a large company of students and faculty, Director Tammy Grella presented one of the best shows seen at Forman in recent years. The entire cast was wonderful but a few leading roles truly stood out. Alex Becker '18 shone as Princess Fiona. Henry Lautch '19 was masterful in conveying the emotional range of Shrek. Ahlon Harkness '19 brought bristling energy to his performance as Donkey. And Henry Piedra '19 owned the room as the remarkable doofus Prince Farquaad. Many students played various fairytale creatures, and all did wonderful jobs, but Molly Reinhardt's '20 singing was particularly lovely and carried many scenes, and Harris Goldstein '19 brought Pinocchio vividly alive.
