Forman School graduated 57 students on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the annual Commencement Exercises. The Manchester Pipe Band led the traditional academic processional on the bagpipes. Faculty members followed and then new Forman graduates processed to their seats next to the historic Graduation Tree on The Green.
Reverend Kathleen Reynolds of United Methodist Church in Litchfield called the ceremony to order with an invocation. Head of School Adam K. Man then welcomed the many guests and congratulated the seniors, turning the podium over to graduation speaker David Rublin '06. Rublin, is a member of the four-piece alt-rock band American Authors who released a debut album entitled Oh, What a Life. Their breakout single is titled "Best Day of My Life."
Valedictorian Caroline Mahan '18 gave the senior speech then Administrators and Department Chairs led the awards and presented each recipient with a specially engraved pewter cup. Many of the awards are in honor of past faculty members and alumni who made a great impact on the School and helped make it what it is today.
Finally, Mr. Man, Director of Studies Jamie Dwan, and President of the Board of Trustees Scott Sutherland '69 conducted the conferring of the diplomas. Cheers rang out from the newly minted alumni as well as their proud teachers, families, and friends.
