Each new year brings positive change and in that spirit Forman School is pleased to introduce new faculty members for the 2018-'19 academic year.
Brittany Bloom is a recent graduate of Southern New Hampshire University and joins Forman as a teacher in the Cognition and Learning department. Before coming to Forman, Brittany performed many roles at Maple Avenue Elementary School in Claremont, NH. Brittany will be the Primary Dorm Parent in Commons.
Scott Brady began his teaching career at Forman School as a History Teacher, Coach, Assistant Athletic Director, and Dorm Parent. He worked at Forman for 11 years before becoming a Social Studies Teacher at Wooster School in Danbury, CT. Prior to coming back to Forman, he was teaching Social Studies and Law/Civics at Wamogo Regional High School in Litchfield, CT. Scott brings over 28 years of experience as a history teacher and a great deal of knowledge to Forman as a member if the History Department. He lives in Morris, CT.
Emma Fortier joins Forman in as an English Teacher. Most recently, she worked at the Student Leadership and Involvement Office in Easton, PA creating Sophomore and Junior year experience programs. Emma graduated from Lafayette University and will be a Dorm Parent in Chace.
Cecilia Gallo will serve as Forman's Health, Wellness, and Leadership Teacher. Before her most recent role as the Assistant Director of Admission at Westover School, Cecilia worked at Forman in August 2013 as a history teacher. Her expertise is in community building and helping students with problem solving. Cecilia, a graduate of Lesley College, lives in Litchfield with her husband.
Lauren Hazard, a graduate of Lafayette College, joins Forman as a Spanish Teacher after working at the CEDEI Language School in Ecuador. She taught a full Spanish language immersion program there and taught an introductory English class to students at a high school in Chile. Lauren will be a Dorm Parent in Chace.
Mackey Hemphill joins us as a Science Teacher. She has been working with middle through high school aged students and most recently taught Science at Wyoming Seminary School in Kingston, PA where she focused on individual, hands-on student learning. Mackey, a graduate of Wesleyan University, will be a Dorm Parent in Giles.
Kiana Hernandez, a graduate of Yale College, will be a Thinking and Writing Teacher at Forman. Prior to Forman, Kiana worked at Yale Law School. She is an avid volleyball player and was the Head Coach for the New Haven Juniors Volleyball Club Starlings U18.
Jennifer Kaplan comes to Forman School as a Cognition and Learning Department Teacher. Previously, Jennifer was a Special Education Teacher at High Road School in Wallingford, CT. Jennifer, who graduated from Long Island University and has an M.A. from Columbia University Teachers College, has a strong background in education and is certified in Mathematics, Reading, and Special Education.
Alicia Lane, who will teach History at Forman, graduated from Dickinson College and majored in history with religion as a minor. Prior to joining Forman, Alicia worked in a public school system as a substitute teacher and classroom assistant. One of her many roles was working with students with learning differences.
Erin Leist joins Forman as a teacher in the Thinking and Writing Department. She graduated summa cum laude from Middlebury, majoring in Psychology with a minor in English & American Literatures and Education Studies. Prior to Forman, Erin worked taught a Humanities class at Culver Academies in Culver, Indiana. Erin will be a Dorm Parent in Baillie.
Tyler Palmese joined Forman as a Humanities Teacher in 2018. Prior to Forman School, he taught history at The Wight Foundation in New Jersey. Tyler has also worked at The Gunn Memorial Library in Washington, CT as well as a counselor, baseball instructor, and soccer coach at a summer camp in Kent, CT. Tyler is a Dorm Parent in Newton.
