Most of the Forman School community gathered in the gymnasium at 7:30pm on Saturday, September 8 to begin the traditional color wars games for the 2018-'19 school year. After all new students were assigned to either the Green or White team, the festivities began in earnest.
The first contest was a rousing game of "Do You Have ...?" in which Ms. Grella would call out random objects and items. Then the first team to run up, ring the bell, and show that they in fact HAD that paper clip, picture of a pet, or New York City subway card would get that point. It was a lot of fun and you'd be surprised what Forman people have in their pockets and backpacks.
Then it got physical.
The gym was divided into two courts for games of Dodgeball. The teams were coed and everybody played hard. Those dodgeballs were flying fast and furiously. The primary parent in Carriage was hit in the shoulder and almost knocked down. And that was after the games were over. He's fine. Nothing that a few food truck cupcakes couldn't fix, which the whole school enjoyed on Sunday night.
On Monday at lunch, Ms. Grella and Ms. Munn announced that, after fastidious tallying which maintained an Olympic standard for accuracy, the White team had won round one. The White team has a lot of weird stuff and throws dodgeballs really hard. Good to know.
OK, Green. We're looking at you.
