Each year, Head of Forman School Adam K. Man challenges the senior class president to a contest. They stand before each other, and the whole school, each armed with flash cards that have picture of a new student on one side and that student's name on the other. Whoever can name the most students correctly is the winner.
So, on Friday, September 14 during all school assembly in the Jake Cloobeck '16 Theater, Mr. Man welcomed class president Odessa Slauson '19 to the stage to participate in this annual battle of wits.
The ground rules were simple. Name the student on the card presented to you. There would be five initial rounds. If tied, there would be seven sudden death rounds. Miss one and you're out if the other person nails it. If tied after those 12 rounds, the contest would be declared a draw.
Mr. Man and President Slauson were tied after five.
And they were tied after the first six rounds of sudden death.
And when Mr. Man identified Haven Cody '20 in round seven, the contest was officially a tie.
Mr. Man stated that no other class president had given him such staunch opposition. As a reward, Mr. Man declared that Saturday, September 15 would be a dress-down day and everyone in attendance cheered.
