Five Forman School student-athletes were selected for the All-Star soccer matches on Sunday, November 15 at Loomis Chaffee School. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams were made up of a combination of schools that are part of NEPSAC (New England Preparatory School Athletic Council) and more specifically, WNEPSSA Western New England Preparatory School Soccer Association.
Forman Athletic Director Scott McCarty ’76, who led the Boys’ Varsity Soccer team to an HVAL victory just the day before, coached the North Squad. This team included Luke Willson ’17, Franco Conti ’17, Dylan Thambirasa ’17, in addition to athletes from Darrow School, Macduffie School, and Storm King School, among others. The North Squad defeated the South Squad (Hamden Hall School, Christian Heritage School, et al.) 2-1.
Seniors Lacey McCaw ’16 and Caroline Herdje ’16 were led on the Gray Team by Forman Girls’ Varsity Soccer Coach Kyle Halloran in the girls’ All-Star Match. It was a competitive game against the Maroon Team, with a final score of 1-3. McCaw was also an All-Star during her freshman and sophomore years.
Athletes were selected for the All-Star teams by opposing coaches, who nominated players after each league game during the regular season. College representatives across Connecticut also attended and scouted athletes from all of the teams.
