School is almost over, which means a long break to soak in the summer rays. It can also mean spending months forgetting most of the skills you learned during the academic year. But is it possible to have the best of both worlds?
Forman School offers a four-week, coed boarding and day program for students entering grades 7-11 who would benefit from an individualized approach to learning. Forman is still accepting applications for the Summer Program, which takes place from July 5-30.
On the School’s lush, picturesque Litchfield campus, students are immersed in fun, skill-building courses such as Math, Reading, Writing, Metacognitive Strategies, and Executive Functions. Afternoon activities include jewelry making, boat building, soccer, lacrosse, a ropes course, theater, horseback riding, fishing, and more.
Parents and students alike have been pleased with the outcome of the program. “The Summer Program gave my child a lot of confidence,” one parent said. “It taught him tools to apply in his scholastic activities and everyday life. It gave him a jumpstart to the school year.”
