Forman Summer 2016 is off to a great start. The theme this week (July 5-10) is “Know Yourself,” so students have been given opportunities in the academic classrooms to identify their strengths, challenges, goals, and passions. For example, in Mr. Bucklin’s writing classes, students are exploring Thoreau’s connection with the natural world and how they can use the trees, rocks, and the stream as symbolic representations of themselves.
In the afternoon, students have had the opportunity to try nine different activities including boat building, music, art, hiking, soccer, video, and ceramics. Now that they know the options and know themselves, they will choose the activities they want to focus on next week.
