Congratulations to photographer David Berg ’05, who is currently showing his work at an exhibit titled Culture Shock at the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts (CMCArts).
The name of the show derives from his experience going back to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands after coming to Forman School at age 15. He went on to study Professional Photography at the Center for Digital Imaging and Arts at Boston University before returning home to St. Croix.
Berg utilizes a “critical artistic eye” to capture “personal connections to the land and water” for this exhibit according to the museum, who also called the artist’s work “sublime.” Additionally, "...the images are pure and unedited, which reveals his proficiency as a photographer, but also his aesthetic for purity of form." The Forman alumnus and Owner of Blackwood Imaging is a diver and takes many of his photos underwater.
“This show has been very well received and David Berg has been a JOY to work with,” CMCArts said. Berg added that the opening was “a proud moment in my life” and thanked everyone for their support.
Culture Shock will continue through November 15, Thursdays to Saturdays from 10:00am-5:00pm.
