Visual and Performing Arts Center
Construction is underway for the Forman School Visual and Performing Arts Center!
The building will include spacious, state-of-the-art classrooms for dance, photography, videography, theater, ceramics and pottery, jewelry making, drawing and painting, and more. The theater boasts 300 seats, as well as a scene shop, dressing rooms, and costuming area. In addition to a modern, comfortable space, the photography and videography programs will benefit from a dark room and green screen. The ceramics studio will have an indoor and outdoor throwing area and dance students will enjoy the classic wall-to-wall mirrors in their studio.
The new facility will blend nicely with the architecture and scenery of the current campus, but will highlight beautiful, unique features such as cedar siding, stone veneer, a galvalume standing seam roof, exterior benches, stone hardscape, river rock, exterior columns, large windows, and wood louvers. The location will be central for students, close to Olson Outdoor Education Center and Henderson Administrative Building as well as the Science Center and Williams Academic Building.Construction will take approximately one year and will be completed for the 2017-’18 academic year.
