Head Coach: Mike Kowalchick
While attending Ohio Wesleyan University Mike was a member of three NCAC Championship teams, three NCAA Playoff teams, and four top ten division III national ranked teams. At OWU Mike served as a captain and earned all NCAC honors in his senior campaign. After graduating, Mike coached at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, OH where he served as the defensive coordinator helping the team to earn the MSLA championship. Following coaching at WRA Mike coached for almost two decades at the middle school and high school level in the Mid-West and along the East Coast in independent schools and running camps and clinics.
Mike is in his seventh year as head coach at Forman. In his tenure, Forman has won 4 HVAL Championship appearances and 3 Division Championships. Forman has sent players on to play at Division 1, 3, and club level in college and has recognized Forman's first four All-American athletes, 17 All-League Players, and countless division III All-stars.
Beyond Forman Mike serves as a coach for Litchfield Hills Youth Lacrosse and is a believer of building relationships that last a lifetime through lacrosse.
Mike lives in Litchfield with his wife, Megan, and two children, Teddy and Kaitlin.
Assistant Coach: Benjamin Bartlett
Ben joined Forman in August 2012, bringing over 20 years of professional independent school experience. He worked at South Kent School for six years and then at Cushing Academy in Massachusetts for another six years, teaching English and Latin and coaching ice hockey and lacrosse. From there he moved to Rocky Hill School, a private country day school in Rhode Island, where he taught English and Latin, coached soccer and lacrosse, and served as an academic advisor. Born, raised, and educated at South Kent School, Ben contributes positively to many aspects of Forman's active boarding school community. Currently, he lives with his wife, Betsy, and daughter, Emma, in Chace House where he serves as the secondary house parent. In addition, Ben has two older daughters, Ana and Phoebe, graduated from college and working in North Carolina and Massachusetts, respectively. While continuing to teach English and Latin, he presently coaches rock climbing in the fall and boys' varsity lacrosse in the spring.
Assistant Coach: Adam Bendon
Adam Bendon joined the Forman community in August 2015. Prior to Forman, Adam worked at the Ross School, where he taught English and Acting. He has experience not only as a teacher, but also as a Dorm Parent and coach, and was actively involved in the St. Lawrence theater productions. Adam is the Assistant Dean of Students, Freshman Class Dean, and Head Football Coach. He also teaches Theater and assists Tammy Grella with productions and lighting.
