Scott has been a member of the Forman community since 1971, beginning with his five years as a student back when Forman started at eighth grade. After college, he earned his Advanced Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Scott returned to Forman as a teacher, coach, and Dorm Parent. In addition to his current role as Athletic Director, he is Head Coach for the Boys’ Varsity Soccer team. He has also been the Prep School Representative of the Connecticut Soccer Coaches’ Association for the last 18 years. Scott possesses a deep affection for and devotion to Forman. By using a combination of positive reinforcement, discipline, and fun, he is helping the School make a difference in each student’s life, just as it once did for him. Some of Scott’s hobbies include soccer, cycling, running, and spending time with his wife, Tammy Grella, with whom he lives on campus.

Nigel was born and raised in England, where he was an avid player and fan of both soccer and cricket. He earned his Teaching Certification from Madeley College and taught college-level English and Physical Education before coming to the United States. He joined the Forman community in 1986, and has assumed a variety of administrative, teaching, and coaching roles since then. His son, Spencer, graduated from Forman in 2011. Nigel is currently the Director of Town Funding and a teacher in The Forman Institute for Cognition and Learning. He retired in 2015 from his role as the Assistant Coach of the Boys’ Varsity Soccer team, and he lives in Litchfield.
