Day 1, February 25, 2018

Today we explored the differences between a Comic Book and a Graphic Novel.  The students specifically looked at a famous graphic novel "Persepolis" written by Mariane Satrapi which is the story of Satrapi's unforgettable childhood and coming of age within a large and loving family in Tehran during the Islamic Revolution.  The students looked at excerpts from the first chapter and then we began to watch the movie.

Part of today was used to brainstorm their ideas for telling their own story.  They looked through already published graphic novels and began to draw and create panels and images.
