Welcome from the Director of Studies
Forman School offers a rigorous, college preparatory curriculum and we challenge all of our students to aim high academically, while providing them with an optimal level of support. We offer honors level courses in all of the core academic subjects.
In addition, we offer courses in the arts that allow students to pursue their creative passion at the highest levels.
Our department heads are certified in the Strategic Instruction Model (University of Kansas) and Forman teachers receive significant ongoing professional development to work with students who learn differently.
Classes at Forman are 75 minutes long and students take four classes each day, allowing them to explore topics more thoroughly, using multiple modalities. Alternating days on content classes allows students to focus on fewer subjects each night. This paradigm is based on research that indicates how LD students learn best.
Content area tutors are available during evening study hall five days a week. Structured study periods take place across campus and are overseen by faculty members to help students make the most of their time.
Beyond the required course load, students have the opportunity to develop other areas of interest through clubs and extracurricular activities.
Forman is a school where students find the academic experience to be appropriately challenging and where they are supported in a variety of ways that allow them to reach their full potential.
