The Barbara Chace Library
Forman School recognizes that being information literate is vital to success in high school, college and beyond. The school librarian collaborates with teachers from across disciplines to integrate information literacy skills into the curriculum, providing direct instruction on the research process, and on finding and evaluating information sources.
The library maintains a growing collection of the latest young adult fiction; we strive to help students connect to literature, inspiring a life-long love of reading. We’re also connected to reQuest, Connecticut’s statewide library catalog, giving students access books from across the state. At the Barbara Chace Library, information is available in a variety of formats including print, electronic and audio formats. We also make use of assistive technology to increase access to information
The library website helps to make the library—and the resources it provides—part of students’ academic lives even when they’re not in the library. We are also committed to Universal Design and are striving to be the first UDL library that specifically supports the needs of students with learning differences.
