February 25, 2026

Forman School is proud to celebrate Claire Roney ’27, who won the New England Prep School Wrestling Association (NEPSWA) Girls’ Wrestling Championship in her weight class, becoming the first female wrestler in school history to earn this title.

The tournament took place on February 14th at Greens Farms Academy, where Claire delivered a dominant performance, pinning all four of her opponents.

“Claire’s work ethic and competitive mindset have set the standard all season,” said Director of Athletics John Strawson. “She competes with poise and toughness, and she represents Forman at the highest level.”

With her New England championship victory, Claire qualified for the National Prep Wrestling Championships, where she competed against top wrestlers from across the country at Lehigh University.

“This is a tremendous accomplishment and a meaningful milestone for our wrestling program,” Strawson added. “We are extremely proud of Claire and the entire team for the dedication they have shown throughout the year.”

Claire’s historic season marks an exciting moment for Forman athletics.
