Forman Alumnus, Telefunken CEO Gives Back

February 21, 2024

Several students, Arts Teacher Jerrod Cattey, and Director of the Annual Fund Sean Maguire ’89, P’22, P’23 visited Telefunken Elektroakustik, a world-class audio equipment manufacturer located in South Windsor, CT, on February 12th. Telefunken’s CEO, Toni Fishman ’88, spent time with the group and gave them a tour of the facility.

“The students’ visit to Telefunken was an eye-opening experience,” said Maguire. “Toni’s passion for his craft and dedication to his alma mater shone through as he generously spent the afternoon guiding the students through the inner workings of microphone production and the intricacies of running a successful business. His journey from Forman to owning and operating a world-renowned company served as an inspiring example of what dedication and passion can achieve. As Toni shared his story, his goal was to lead students to realize that their own passions and interests could lead to fulfilling careers, much like his own journey which began during his time at Forman.”

Fishman recently gave back to Forman by donating a variety of hand-selected microphones to benefit the school’s music program.

“This act of generosity underscores Toni’s deep connection to Forman and reflects his belief in the importance of supporting the next generation of learners,” Maguire adds. “With these cutting-edge tools at their disposal, students will have the opportunity to explore their interests, hone their skills, and unleash their creativity, much like Toni did during his own formative years at Forman. His story and belief in giving back serve as inspiration, illuminating the path for future generations of students to discover and pursue their passions with confidence and enthusiasm.”
