LITCHFIELD, Conn. (October 28, 2025) — Forman School, a college preparatory boarding and day school for students with learning differences, proudly announces the ribbon-cutting of its new turf field, William Branstrom Field. Members of the Forman community gathered to celebrate this exciting addition to campus during the school’s Fall Family Weekend on October 17th.

This transformative project was made possible through the leadership and generosity of William and Robin Branstrom, along with Stuart and Trustee Cameron Sherrill, parents of Forman alumna CeCe Sherrill ’22. Their vision laid the foundation for the field, with additional support from alumni, colleagues, and families helping bring the project to life.

“To have this moment to gather together to celebrate our community, to celebrate our Lions and these athletes who get to play on this field tonight, is really meaningful,” said Head of School Amy Clemons during the ceremony. “I want to thank especially the Sherrill and Branstrom families for their incredible support and their vision for making today possible.” 

“Stuart and I were very grateful that Forman had come into CeCe’s life and ours,” shared Trustee Cameron Sherrill P’22. “We had a conversation with Forman about how we could help, and that’s how this turf field started. That same gratitude has kept us involved, because we are still a Forman family.”

William Branstrom Field reflects Forman’s dedication to creating meaningful opportunities for student-athletes to grow and thrive. The state-of-the-art turf further enhances the school’s athletic facilities, allowing for more consistent play and training throughout the year.

“In New England, the weather can change in a heartbeat, snow one day, pouring rain the next. Having a reliable surface means our athletes can keep training and competing without constant cancellations or muddy conditions,” said Director of Athletics John Strawson. 

“Most importantly, it creates a place for our whole community to come together,” Strawson added. “We saw how special that was during our Family Weekend night games—the energy, the crowds, everyone together under the lights. We can’t wait for more moments like that.”
