Kiana M Hernandez
Originally born and raised in New Haven, CT, Coach Kiana Hernandez is a recent graduate of Yale College, where she was an outside hitter and libero on the Yale Women's Club Volleyball team. As a three-year letter winner, two-year team captain, and a senior Oronoque All-Division selection in high school, Hernandez brings nearly a decade of playing experience into her first season as a coach at Forman. Additionally, as she is also heavily involved with a club volleyball program, Starlings New Haven, in her hometown, this will be Hernandez's fourth year acting as a volleyball coach and her third year acting as the head coach of a volleyball team. She greatly looks forward to her first season as a Forman Lion!
Charrissa is a Science Teacher at Forman School and has been a part of the community since 2013. She has been the Volleyball's assistant coach for the last 3 years. She has also been a Skiing/Snowboarding and Ultimate Frisbee coach.
Kiana joined the Forman community in July 2018 as a Thinking and Writing Teacher. Prior to Forman, Kiana worked at the Yale Law School. She is an avid volleyball player and was the Head Coach for the New Haven Juniors Volleyball Club Starlings U18.
Charissa joined Forman as a Science Teacher in July 2016, but has been part of the community since 2013, as she lives on campus in Giles with her husband, Director of Library Services and Educational Technology Facilitator Sean Padgett. Having earned a Master’s in Educational Psychology with honors from UConn and a Bachelor’s in Psychology magna cum laude from Loyola University, Charissa is skilled in counseling, data analysis, curriculum development, classroom guidance, and student advocacy. Before being hired full-time, she taught Metacognitive Strategies at the Summer Program and assisted the Academic Dean’s Office at Forman.
