Learning Through Service at Arethusa Farm

April 29, 2026

A group of students and faculty recently visited Arethusa Farm in Litchfield, where they learned about the mission of the Arethusa Farm Foundation, which is dedicated to agricultural education, workforce development, and meaningful community partnerships.

Beyond learning, the group rolled up their sleeves to take part in hands-on community service, including painting fences across the property. One of the highlights was the opportunity to spend time with the farm’s cows in a beautiful setting.

“It was a fantastic experience,” shared Devin Burkhart, Director of Town Funding and Cognition and Learning Teacher.

Joining the trip alongside Mr. Burkhart were Head of School Amy Clemons, Regional Director of Admission Samantha Novick, and Mathematics Department Chair and Facilitator of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Arlis Astudillo.
