Ceramic Bowls for a Cause

Ben Weberman ’23 has produced 50 beautiful ceramic bowls to help raise money to address hunger in the local area. In March, Ben’s creations will be part of the Empty Bowls fundraiser at The Community Soup Kitchen of Torrington, CT.

“Local students and artisans donate hand-crafted ceramic bowls, while local chefs and restaurants donate their talents in the form of delicious soups to fill them,” reads the fundraiser description. After their meal, guests take home their bowls as a reminder of how many go empty around the world.

Ben has produced and donated more bowls than any other student in the program's history at Forman.

“It feels great to pursue and share one of my passions and be able to help this cause,” says Ben.

“Inventive, creative, drawn to problem-solving, and a remarkable collaborator, Ben continues to be a valuable asset to the ceramics program at Forman,” says Austin Zimmer, Forman Ceramics Teacher. “All of us always look forward to seeing what Ben will create next, and lucky are the friends and faculty to whom he gifts his works!”
