Head of School Adam K. Man P’15 to Retire in June 2024

Adam K. Man P’15, who has served as Forman’s Head of School since 2008, announced on January 16th that he will retire at the end of the 2023-2024 academic year.

“I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to lead Forman School over the past 15 years,” Adam K. Man wrote in his letter to Eric Ebbert P’16, President of the Board of Trustees. “Forman is a truly remarkable school, one that transforms the lives of students who learn differently, and it is a place that I will always love.”

Adam and his wife, Beth, immersed themselves in the Forman community upon arriving, raising their family on campus. Their son, Samuel, graduated from the school, and Beth is currently a Writing Teacher, Archivist, Special Events Coordinator, and Girls’ Varsity Tennis Coach. She previously served as a Health Teacher and Admission Counselor.

“I am deeply grateful for the leadership Adam and Beth have offered over the last decade and a half, excited for what lies ahead for the Mans, and sad to know our partnership is nearing a conclusion,” wrote Eric in his letter to the Forman community.

Under Adam’s leadership, Forman has grown significantly. Eric noted increased enrollment; a strong team of educators; new and renovated campus facilities, including the Science Center and Visual and Performing Arts Center; and innovative and diversified programs. “All of this has been accomplished while strengthening the school’s finances,” he continued.

Adam shared all he will miss about Forman—from his daily interactions with students to working with dedicated faculty and staff. He added that he is confident in the future of the school and looks forward to what lies ahead for him.

“The Forman of today is in excellent shape, ready for the next stage in its history as it heads toward its centennial,” he said. “I am also looking forward to my own next adventure, excited about new challenges and experiences.”

Adam emphasized his commitment to ensuring the school’s success as he concludes his tenure, “It is my goal to finish on a high note, and I hope to complete the work and support for a new Cognition and Learning Center and athletic turf field over the next 18 months.”

Forman’s Board of Trustees will begin a search for a new Head of School soon. Search process updates will be posted here.
